St. Anthony of Padua Council 2716, Schuyler
Welcomes Miss America Teresa Scanlan
Nebraska's own Teresa Scanlan, Miss America 2011, was a special guest at the Knights of Columbus Spring Festival and Car Show in Schuyler on Sunday, June 12. She signed autographs, visited at the Knights of Columbus Hall with festival-goers and appeared on stage. She is pictured above with council members who worked at the Car Show and Festival.
Teresa spoke about the Miss America program and her involvement. She stressed how important it is for people to do what is right and reminded the crowd that "all it takes for evil to flourish is for good people to do nothing."
Teresa, a dedicated pro-lifer, also talked about the positive effects strong families have on our society.
The black and white photo to the right was taken as Teresa sang "God Bless America" at the end of her presentation. The photo was taken by The Schuyler Sun and is used with permission.
