Business meetings: St. Joseph Council 1723 meetings are held on the second Tuesday of every month, at 7:30pm, and are usually held in the St. Joseph Parish Hall.

Our council hosts a large number of council activities throughout the year.

** CURRENT NEED **

The Knights of Columbus are spearheading a project to help Miss Lorraine
at the Red Raven Day Care Center to obtain outdoor play equipment and also indoor
educational toys for the Daycare. Any gently used equipment, or toys would be put
to use and appreciated by them. In addition, they could use more booster seats for lunch
time use to feed the smaller children. Anyone having items to donate could call Ken Brockman of the Knights and he will be happy to pick up and haul them to the school for use. You can call and leave your name, address and phone number with him at
(402) 223-3266, or drop off at 414 N. 7th on the front porch if you want.
NOTE: Of course �cash donations� will not be refused!
Thanks for anything you can do to help them with updated or new items!

Saturday, October 3	Big Blue River Clean Up	8:00AM and 4:00PM

** NEWS **

Beatrice Council 1723 kicked off the annual Tootsie Roll drive the weekend of April 18th � 19th posting Knights outside local department stores from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm as well as before and after the weekend Masses.

Phase two of the program included contacting local businesses to purchase boxes of Tootsie Rolls. This year we were again very successful in providing funds for those in our community and state that deal with developmental disabilites, mental retardation, and mental illness.

HOMESTEAD DAYS PARADE IN BEATRICE, NEBRASKA
JUNE 20, 2009

Council 1723 � Beatrice exhibit some of it�s member�s classic cars at the annual Homestead Days Parade June 20th. Cars are driven by brother Knights: Bill Wiekert, Dick Osterhaus, and Nate Crotty.

The Knights presence in the parade was a cooperative effort of Beatrice Council 1723 and Pope John Paul II Assembly 3146 Beatrice\Cortland.

HOMESTEAD DAYS / FATHER'S DAY PANCAKE & SAUSAGE BREAKFAST
JUNE 21, 2009

Beatrice Council 1723, in conjunction with the Beatrice Chamber of Commerce, hosted a Father�s Day pancake and sausage breakfast Sunday morning June 21st at Chautauqua Park in Beatrice as part of the annual Homestead Days Celebration in Beatrice.
