Additional Opportunity and Cost
As a Sir Knight member of the Assembly, you have an opportunity to join the Chalice Club. There are three options of the Chalice Club, and each option cost $200.00. You may choose one, two, or all three options at a cost of $200.00 per option.
Options:
1) CHALICE - gold plated vessel for preparation of the wine.
2) CIBORIUM - gold plated vessel for holding the hosts.
3) MEMORIAL MASS - 20 masses at $10.00 per mass, said in the memory of deceased Sir Knigh.
The Chalice/Ciborium is to memorialize you, the Sir Knight, who passes away. This is a beautiful and lasting way to pay tribute to the Sir Knight who has passed away. It will offer a great comfort to the family members of a deceased Sir Knight that a Chalice or Ciborium presented for use in offering the holy sacrifice of the Mass has been given in the name of their loved one.
As a member of the Chalice Club, upon your death, the Chalice or Ciborium will be engraved on the bottom of the base 'In Memory of (person's name)'. The Chalice or Ciborium will be presented to the widow/family at the rosary funeral along with a certificate from the assembly. The widow/family has the option of giving the Chalice or Ciborium to a priest to use during mass or donate it to a church. Should the widow/family not wish to designate a recipient, the Chalice or Ciborium may be presented to the Bishop who will give it to a priest.
As a member of the Chalice Club, you will be billed $10.00 each year for the appropriate choice, which will be added to your annual dues of $15.00 unless you voluntarily pay more. We encourage you to pay the Chalice Club off in advance, especially prior to your death. You may elect to be either in the Chalice Club, Ciborium Club, or the Memorial Mass Club, or any combination, or all three. But remember, each will cost you $200.00, and you will be billed as follows.
One Choice = $10.00 Two Choices = $20.00 Three Choices = $30.00
Clergy that are members of the Bishop Kucera Assembly are not assessed dues, but they may pay $5.00 per year and no more than $100.00 for a Memorial Mass. The assembly will donate the balance of $100.00 to equal $200.00 for the clergy's Memorial Mass. The clergy's Memorial Masses will be held at Bonacum House unless the assembly is advised otherwise. Clergy that join the Memorial Mass Club will receive an annual statement for $5.00 from the Faithful Comptroller for their Memorial Mass Club.
When joining the Chalice Club, you need to note on the dues notice or on your check which club you belong to and pay the appropriate amount plus the annual dues.
For deceased members that have not paid their Chalice Club in full, the appropriate choice in the Chalice Club will be honored and presented to his widow/family, the balance donated by the funds in the Chalice Club. Clergy that are deceased prior to paying off their Memorial Mass will still have a $200.00 check written for the Masses at Bonacum House.
The assembly officers may state the initial minimum amount needed to join the Chalice Club based on a members age and number of years as a member of the Bishop Kucera Assembly to assure the fund is either paid up or financially sound to cover unexpected deaths of Sir Knights. Example: New Chalice club members over age 60 are requested to make an initial payment of $100.00, then every year thereafter $10.00 per year until paid off or you may pay it off sooner.
If you have any questions feel free to contact your Faithful Navigator, Faithful Comptroller, or Faithful Purser.
