40 New Members Initiated
by Knights of Columbus

    forty new members were initiated by the Knights of Columbus yesterday afternoon and later were honored at a banquet at the Fontenelle Hotel.
    Thomas J. Sheehan, Jr., deputy grand knight of Omaha council No. 652, which sponsored the banquet, presided as toastmaster.  Honor guests were Francis P. Matthews, supreme knight of the Knights of Columbus, for whom the class was named;  Albert Karr, Lexington, past state deputy;  William Puetz, David City, Neb., district deputy,  and James L. Kudrna, Wahoo.
    An urgent appeal for support of the Red Cross was expressed by Matthews, combined with "the hope that private agencies with a religious background will eventually be allowed to accompany and serve United States forces overseas
