Prayer Card Art Contest
Kindergarten through 6th grade
- Contest is open to all students from kindergarten through sixth grade, both school and Religious Ed.
- Design must be on paper no larger than 8 1/2" by 11" (standard size
paper). The design may be smaller. - The picture/drawing must have a Pro-Life message or theme.
- Color pencils, crayons, markers, paints, etc can be used. (Please, no colored glitter.)
All entries must include (on the back of the posters):
- Name of student
- Age
- Name of School
- Address of School
- K of C Council #
- Grade identifier (e.g "3A" for a third grade class or however your school identifies particular grades and how they are divided, if at all )
- Homeroom or Religious Ed teacher's name
Poster artwork that does not include the above information on the back will not be considered for awards; since we will not know who it belongs to.
HINT: Artwork will be judged based on artistic, as well as pro-life and Christian content as criteria for winner selection.
Artwork is due to the State Pro-life Couple by Saturday, March 3rd, 2012.

Pro-Life Essay Contest for 2011 – 2012
7th through 12th grade
Theme for the 2011 – 2012 school year:
Assume that a friend or family member was suffering from a terminal disease and told you that they wanted help to commit suicide. Explain how you would convince them that assisted suicide and euthanasia are immoral, and how their suffering can have meaning in light of Christ's suffering, death and resurrection.
• Seventh through twelfth grade students are eligible to participate in the Essay Contest.
• All essays are due to your local diocese for first round judging by Saturday March 31st, 2012. (please do not send essays directly to Bob Finger.)

Essays will be judged based on:
- Neatness of paper (typed, not more than 400 words)
- Content of the message as it relates to the pro-life theme
- Clarity in communicating this message
- English language (spelling and grammar based on grade level)
