What
is the Knights of Columbus Nebraska State Council Foundation?
The Foundation is an endowment fund for receiving the contributions
of donors to a permanent fund with income to be used for providing
grants to a broad spectrum of charitable projects and programs.
Its purpose is to enhance and support the quality of life in Nebraska
while supporting the Knights of Columbus Nebraska State Council mission.
The endowment fund is kept in perpetuity to provide
income for the benefit of the Knights of Columbus Nebraska State Council
charitable causes. It puts money to work to earn money rather than
having to raise new dollars every year.

What
is a Memorial and How Can I Give One?
You can preserve the memory and the good that flowed
from a valued friend or family member's life through a memorial.
You can ask other friends and corporations who knew that person to
contribute to the fund on behalf of him. The amount is then
dedicated on behalf of him and becomes a meaningful, permanent living
memorial.

What
Different Ways Can I Give?
Cash
The most straight-forward way that you can give your donation is through
cash or check. You simply make the check out for the amount you
wish to give and designate it to the KCNSC Endowment Fund.
Securities
Gifts of stocks or bonds can also be used as donations. Such gifts
often provide important tax advantages to the donor. Their full
fair market value is deductible as a charitable contribution;
deductibility is limited to 30 percent of the donor's adjusted gross
income.
Life Insurance
If you have recently purchased or have been paying premiums on a life
insurance policy, it can be contributed to charity. You can donate
the policy to the KCNSC Endowment Fund and you get an immediate tax
deduction, usually in an amount equal to the cash surrender value.
Bequest
Through a bequest, you have the opportunity to perpetuate good works in
a living memorial. KCNSC may be named as the residuary beneficiary
of your estate, as the recipient of a specified gift or contingent
bequest, or as the ultimate beneficiary of the assets of a charitable
remainder trust. Bequests are deductible for federal estate tax
purposes.
Real Estate
By donating real estate, the money made by liquifying it will go to the
KCNSC Endowment Fund. For you, it is tax deductible for the appraised
amount.
